Perhaps Americans should use punctuation rules more often. Then the rest of us might be able to get a word-in during polite conversation. Fuck, it might end a few of your wars. And perhaps New Zealand should bring something to the table for the world, I mean apart from the Lord of the fucking Ring films, three movies, each of which were far too long -- not unlike your rattling on.

Piling on top of Pedro getting your cheap shots in like a group of schoolboys, eh? Ricc, Carpenter, SOD, where do the witch hunts end?
There's never been a more lovely soul on the Jalan. A pity it devolves into this sort of thing... You were the one that ran the dude out of town. Ho-Ho! But you have no proof of this thanks to ricc cleverly concealing his past as a Khmer Vege-sniper by removing the accusatory posts. It never happened.

You and thousands of other lesbians.
Sammy, I am not going to go into it all again but to summarise, NZ brought the world atomic energy/bombs, flight, space flight/travel and discovered DNA. I could provide you the details but you would probably start crying.
Oh, and American Idol.

Oh, and American Idol. I'm choking back the tears already. Hope my hands don't shake too noticeably on this post. Yes, that's quite a list of achievements there, Piss. We'd have been straight fucked with the Japs had you fine lads not built the bomb for us. You seem to have left out that NZ brought the world, Indonesia included, some of the most back-asswards expats ever to grace the Bajai smoke of this vast archipelago.

From a previous thread
Richard Pearse: "Mad Pearse", "Bamboo Dick", self-taught inventor, prophetic designer, trail blazing aviator and eccentric visionary. On or about 31st March 1903 a reclusive New Zealand farmer Richard Pearse climbed into a self-built monoplane and flew for about 140 metres before crashing into a gorse hedge on his Waitohi property . Even at half the distance Pearse must have felt the liberating but anxious exhilaration of flying. There is uncertainty about whether it met the definitions of sustained flight, but it came eight months before the Wright Brothers entered the record books at Kitty Hawk North Carolina on 17th December 1903.
And the nuke? Sorry mate. Famous Kiwi invention. Up there with pavlova.
Ernest Rutherford, 1st Baron Rutherford of Nelson OM PC FRS (30 August 1871 - 19 October 1937), widely referred to as Lord Rutherford, was a nuclear physicist who became known as the "father" of nuclear physics. He pioneered the orbital theory of the atom through his discovery of Rutherford scattering off the nucleus with his gold foil experiment.
Space Exploration. That's ours too mate.
William Hayward Pickering ONZ KBE (24 December 1910 — 15 March 2004) was a New Zealand born rocket scientist who headed Pasadena, California's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for 22 years, retiring in 1976. He was a senior NASA luminary and pioneered the exploration of space.
While we're at it, we claim plastic surgery.
Sir Harold Delf Gillies (June 17, 1882 - September 10, 1960) was a New Zealand-born, and later Londoner, otolaryngologist widely considered as the father of plastic surgery.
We can also claim women's suffrage, having the first to stand on the top of the world, Wellywood (four of the top ten highest grossing films in the world ever), refrigeration (Thomas Brydone and William Davidson), Hamilton jet and jogging as a sport(Arthur Lydiard.
I was about to claim sheep worrying, but the Scots beat us to it.

There is uncertainty about whether it met the definitions of sustained flight, but it came eight months before the Wright Brothers entered the record books at Kitty Hawk North Carolina on 17th December 1903.
Given world opinion, looks like it may have not quite met certain criteria for sustained flight. Pity.
This begs for clarification: pioneering any theory in the field of nuclear physics isn't exactly building the bomb, is it old chum? Isn't as if you can claim that "NZ brought the world atomic energy/bombs" because some dude from NZ was working on orbital theory, is it?
William Hayward Pickering ONZ KBE (24 December 1910 — 15 March 2004) was a New Zealand born rocket scientist who headed Pasadena, California's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for 22 years, retiring in 1976. He was a senior NASA luminary and pioneered the exploration of space.
While I feel quite warm and fuzzy for the guy, I am fairly certain that California's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is somewhere in the United States. I am also quite sure that NASA is American. From where his work was performed, it would be silly not to admit that he'd never have been able to achieve what he did in NZ.
Sir Harold Delf Gillies (June 17, 1882 - September 10, 1960) was a New Zealand-born, and later Londoner, otolaryngologist widely considered as the father of plastic surgery.
I'll give you plastic surgery, but only because it tends to make ugly women less ugly to look at, and plastic surgery is popular in America.
So let's reset the score:
New Zealand: 3 Lord of the Ring Films, Plastic Surgery.

Guilding the lilly? Are you implying I am interfering with Lambert's girlfriend? Uncle Sammy, you are sounding a lot like Riccardo in your pithy rebuttals of little 'ol NZ's claims to having contributed only three movies to the world. Sammy: "While I feel quite warm and fuzzy for the guy, I am fairly certain that California's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is somewhere in the United States. I am also quite sure that NASA is American. From where his work was performed, it would be silly not to admit that he'd never have been able to achieve what he did in NZ." Riccardo: "AND most importantly, the whole point about mentioning Al Bell and his phone, was indeed to emphasize that it was the 'innovation culture' that exists in America that helped him harness his latent talents to do it, something that HE COULD NOT DO in Scotland or Canada for a variety of reasons." Capt: "With the exception of perphaps some of the more unsavoury habits of you colonials , I think it is fair to point out that most of you were British in the first place - like it or not , you buggers would still have been wearing grass skirts had we not chosen to civilise you." Uncle Sammy, you are sounding a lot like Riccardo in your pithy rebuttals of little 'ol NZ's claims to having contributed only three movies to the world.
I've issued no rebuttals of NZ's claims to having contributed just three movies for the world's viewing pleasure. That's what you're doing, Piss. No, I've proposed that, not rebutted it.
Fucking hell, and you taught English here did ya?
Anyhow, if the best you can do is proport similarities in statements made by both the vege-sniper and myself, then t'would be safe to say that you've run out of viable points to your argument, no?
If you're dishing it out, you should be able to take it as well and certainly it's no secret that you're quite vocal in thy protestations of everything America and American. I've no qualm with that, to each their own and all that jazz. Just don't be such a whining barney when you get more of the same.
Now, have you gotten it all out of your system? Tummy not rumbling? Not gonna let out another nice, greasy one are you?

You're mistaking nuclear weapons with atomic nucleii here Piss. Rutherford knew of the atomic nucleus and discovered radioactivity which enabled radio carbon dating and thus a measurement of the Earth's true age, which in turn gave credence to the theory of evolution and the enormous amounts of geological time needed for it. He is NOT responsible for the physics which led to the bomb. That was Albert Einstein , famous heeb and more hirsute than Dilli, and his theory of relativity which posited the equivalence of mass and energy thus paving the way for nuclear weapons. Do your research.

Gentlemen, (if that title is accepted by the illustrious Roy and Sammy) please do not be to hard on Piss, I have known several good hard working decent Kiwi's in my time. There were those ladies in Wellington and then there were those hard working and fun loving girls in that excellent party town of New Plymouth and then there were a couple of barmaids in Bluff that kept us in beer up to the bewitching hour. And then those sheep they will give you a run for your money if no ladies around. So there you go guys, there are some in Kiwiland that pull their weight.
